As the world marked the first International Climate Impact Day on 05.05.2012, iGREEN also took initiative to observe the day at Madurai. As part of generating awareness among the general public via the IEC media, efforts were taken to advocate about climate change to the pilgrims of the  Meenakshi marriage Funtion and God Alagar Car Festival.. Awareness genrated to more than ten lakh people during this initiative.

Zero Plastic Campaign @ Idayapatty Village - Madurai District.

People's Welfare Society,  a mother NGO of iGREEN is conducting Tailoring unit and free tuition center  at idyapatti village and 500 Veedu for past 2 year.  Last week Mr. Francis Xavier Director of PWS took a session  on  zero Plastic campaign for tuition center Children. At end of the session He gave assignment to the the student that they have to collect the plastic from their home first. Yesterday Mr. Francis Xavier  have asked them to bring the collected Plastic at PWS Field office. . Most of the students collected.  Especially Dhanam Differently able  girl studying 3rd standard collected more plastic then the others. The children those who have involved in this assignment were appreciated by PWS  The Kaviyan groups gave  a set of ready made dress as a token of appreciation.
