A Program, Seminar and Rally on "Conserving Endangered species - Nilgri Tarh" - and Grassland",


A Program, Seminar and Rally on "Conserving Endangered species - Nilgri Tarh" - and Grassland", was organised by ACT India Foundation (supported by NEAC 2010 - 2011 - Ministry of Environment and Forest and PEACE Trust Dindigul) in collaboration with iGREEN and HERO Trust for the students of Government High school, Poomparai village, Kodaiknal Taluk on 23-03-2011. The program was inaugurated by Headmistress Ms. Victoria and Presided over by Ms. Krishnaveni, Member of Panchayat Union. Mr. Ashok Raja, Managing Trustee of ACT India Foundation explained the objective of the program. Mr. Santhappan, Convener, 'Revitalize the Western Ghats' explained about the importance of  conserving endangered species and Forest.

Mr. Francis Xavier, convener of iGREEN explained about 350 Campaign and its relevance and importance to conservation of mountainous forest and wild life. After the seminar a rally was conducted in public by 500 students demanding "Save Forest, Save Wild Life, Save Grass land and Grow more trees".

To observe the International Forest day 2011, St. Justin BEd College of Madurai has invited iGREEN


In order to observe the International Forest day , St. Justin BEd College of Madurai has invited  iGREEN-Tamil Nadu  to conduct a   session  on "Importance of Forestation and 350 Campaign on 21st March. 2011. Mr. Francis Xavier - Convener, iGREEN has conducted the session. 

350 South Asian Coordinator Mr. Chaitanya Kumar also has participated and honored by Rev. Sr. Arul Mary - Principal of St. Justin B.Ed College. 200 students were participated. Herewith i am sharing some of the snap shots.

iGREEN invited to National Science Mella 2011:@ AAC- Karumathur


On 25th of Feb to 27th of Feb.- 2011, the Arul Anandar College of Karumathur has conducted National Science Mella 2011: Youth for Science and Science for prosperity on Eco - water, Sanitation and Hygiene with the support of National Council for  Science & Technology Communication, DST, Govt. of India, New Delhi, Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology and Tamil Nadu Science City Chennai. iGREEN was invited for this Science Mella and put a stall and explain about the carbon effect to the participants.Mr. Francis Xavier - Convener of iGREEN Explained the Science of 350 campaign and How to reduce the carbon effect from the atmosphere with the support of our iGREEN Scientist Mr. Abdul Azis and Mr. John Bosco, Assistant  Prof. of Rural Development Science in Arul Anandar College  to the participants. First day school students participated, Second day College students and Third day General Public were oriented.
